Do you suffer with symptoms such as wind, bloating, tummy pain or changing bowel habits that are affecting your quality of life. It could be that you are suffering with IBS (Irritable bowel syndrome). Once you have had serious medical conditions including Bowel Cancer, Coeliac Disease, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Pancreatic Enzyme Insufficiency and Bile Salt Malabsorption ruled out under the care of an NHS or Private Gastroenterologist, clients can often find themselves not knowing the cause of their symptoms or where to turn next.

Speak with an expert
The good news is that help is available. The usual next step is for a Gastroenterologist to refer someone to a Dietitian for advice. Having worked as a dietitian in the field of Gastroenterology for 17 years, I have specialist experience in counselling clients to understand what may be causing their symptoms and working together to formulate a plan for them to put into practice. I call these the “First line principles for a healthy gut“. By reviewing and changing your diet and lifestyle habits, it is likely that you will be able to improve or resolve your symptoms.
Plan B
Approximately 50% of clients will find relief by implementing the “First line principles for a healthy gut“. For those who haven’t, fear not, there is a Plan B, and it’s based on lots of science. This is known as The Low Fodmap Diet. Developed by the university of Monash in Australia, researchers were able to demonstrate that by removing the favourite foods of our friendly bacteria, it was possible to resolve IBS symptoms in approximately 70% of participants. By bringing foods back, in a structured way, under the supervision of a trained Dietitian, we are able to identify both the trigger foods and threshold of how much trigger food you can tolerate.
Having trained in 2021 at Kings College London (KCL), the centre for Dietitian Low Fodmap training in the UK, I have supported countless clients to implement this programme successfully and I am ready to help you. I will provide you with the necessary tools and resources you require to safely understand how your diet is affecting you and help you to move on with your life.
